Representatives of Komercijalna banka and B92 Fund donated the incubator to the Intensive Care Unit of Paediatrics Services at Pančevo General Hospital. The donation has been organised within the campaign „Together for babies“ initiated for equipping the maternity wards in Serbia.
This the 17th donation since the launch of the campaign in June 2014 and the value of the incubator is RSD 835 thousand. Until now, in this campaign, medical equipment for maternity wards and health centres has been procured in Belgrade (GAK Višegradska and GAK Narodni Front), Čačak, Šabac, Knjaževac, Požarevac, Kruševac, Gračanica, Aleksinac, Valjevo, Negotin, Kladovo, Jagodina, Priboj, Vrnjačka Banja and Ćuprija. In addition to medical equipment, IT equipment was also purchased for 13 maternity wards and nine registry offices in 19 cities in Serbia, to launch the project of registering new-borns in the registry books immediately at the maternity ward.
„In this campaign, besides B92 Fund and Komercijalna banka, the huge role have our clients, as well, because every time they use the payment card of Komercijalna banka, the Bank from its own funds allocates the money for the reconstruction of maternity wards in Serbia. This means that the clients in Pančevo, also, together with their bank, helped the purchase of this incubator and contributed the victory in fight for the future of this city and its environs“, said Vladimir Medan, PhD, the President of the Executive Board of Komercijalna banka.
The Bank organises this campaign together with B92 Fund, as a special campaign within the campaign „Battle for maternity wards“.
„B92 Fund has through campaigns „Battle for babies“ and „Battle for maternity wards“, and with the support of various donors, for maternity ward in Pančevo provided thus far 6 incubators and other neonatal equipment for babies and mothers. Thanks to Komercijalna banka and our mutual initiative „Together for babies“, the maternity ward in Pančevo is receiving today the seventh incubator that will enable for many lives to be saved“, said on behalf of B92 Fund Veran Matić, the Chairman of the Management Board.
On behalf of the General hospital in Pančevo, the donation was received by the director of the hospital,
Dr Slobodan Ovuka, who emphasised the significance of this donation for Pančevo and surrounding places.
„On days when we give and love more than usual, your gesture has a special significance. Thank you on behalf of the staff at Pančevo General Hospital and on behalf of our future babies and their parents. This noble act deserves our full commitment and care in working with the youngest generation”, noted Dr Ovuka.
Full support to the campaign of Komercijalna banka and B92 Fund was also provided by the Minister of Labour Zoran Đorđević, who highlighted that other companies should follow this example. "Caring for the youngest is one of the priorities of the Government of Serbia and such actions should continue in the next year," said Minister Đorđević.
Campaign „Together for babies“ continues, and in the coming period Komercijalna banka will donate another two incubators– for the General hospital in Vršac and the General hospital of the Health Centre Vranje.
